The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are off to a record start, having sold more units in the first month than any other iPhones in Apple's history.

Calling it the biggest and most successful iPhone launch ever, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook revealed the success at a special event in Cupertino, Calif., on Thursday. Though he boasted of high sales, Cook declined to get into specifics, simply saying that it was the best first-month sales ever.

"And I don't mean by a little," Cook said. "By a lot. A whole lot."

Sales for the first two weeks of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be seen in Apple's results for the September quarter, which will be revealed next Tuesday.

They obviously need to wait until their quarterly call. This should be awesome. :)

    Yep - lol.

It's been the the biggerest launch by far.
Not hard to do with China numbers included - waiting for the inevitable slide on the stock as the analysts spin it tho'

Also waiting for the"one more thing - ATV" Boom.

Not surprised. I swear I am seeing more 6 and 6 Plus models out on the street than old models.

I think this explains a lot about the 'low' adaption rate for iOS8.

Funny how the expectations for Apple are always higher than anyone else. The adaptation of the newest iOS is at around 40% in less than a month from its launch. In comparison, over 60% of Android users still use a version of Android that is at least 2 years old.

I hope the reported results are so high that the stock at least doesn't tank.

Better if the shorts go broke.
