Leave it to DED to turn what would have been a nice concise article about apples new approach to media and developers into a long diatribe about random stats and digs on android.

Although others have said Mac mini, I really think it was the Retina iMac. After all, it's several years since the iPhone and iPad went Retina. Now, finally, the iMac is, too.

Seems convincing to me, and, I hope, to you, too.
Not really. If 'adding retina to stuff from way too long ago' was the meme, then retina on the MBAir would have been an even bigger needle-mover.
In fact, irrespective of the tag line -- which, I am beginning to think, was a bit lame relative to what actually transpired -- I am a bit disappointed that they had nothing at all on the MBAir front.

What chips would they use? Wasn't Broadwell delayed? I'm actually expecting a pretty big update next spring - new laptops and maybe this larger iPad that's been rumored.

I am sure the tagline came much later than knowledge of the (rumored) Broadwell delays and such.

Did someone figure out what the tag line for the recent presentation -- "it's been way too long" -- was actually about?
What exactly was 'way too long' to wait for in the recent set of updates/intros?

Long time since a Mac Mini update. Too long to get retina displays of that size manufactured. WE’RE WAITING TOO LONG FOR BROADWELL.
Take your pick.
Also been a long time that we've waited for a laminated display on an iPad.

And also-the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were 'way too long'.
I'd like to see them produce "super computer" level machines. Hardware is stale and moving forward too slowly. Remember that quantum computer?
They're not hands-down faster than regular computers.

But it's a really nice-looking floor-top computer!
Long time since a Mac Mini update...
Also been a long time ....
And also.....
Meh. Still in the dark.

I have no idea what the tagline meant.

A Mac mini update that, according to many Mac "faithful", at least if you read the Macrumors forums, is a huge slap in the face.
That's not 'irony' it's 'coincidence'.
Apple just sent out "thank you" emails for all Yosemite beta testers:
This seems to be new as well...
Reading MacRumors is always a slap in the face.
I am sure the tagline came much later than knowledge of the (rumored) Broadwell delays and such.
What good is accuracy when there's zero integrity?
Kudos for putting faithful in quotes. " src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
And to you.
I'm not the one writing editorials with misleading headlines.
