And I'm a happy camper. Just got an iPod, if you didn't already guess. I'm busy right now sorting through my mp3s.
I know you've already heard this a thousand times before, but this thing is way freaking cool.

Hmm, I remember from another thread that your girlfriend's gone to Italy, and now you go get an iPod. A coincidence? I think not.
But I just know they'll update it or give it a price cut the minute after I buy it.

That's about how I feel about the iBook. Except I don't have the money. I had to really control myself at CompUSA. I bought software but I came close to buying a iBook. I helped somebody else buy a combo but nothing for me. Oh well. My new iMac will come someday.

Don't waste your time or money on an iBook. I have had terrible experiences with both of mine, and I know other people who have had problems too. If you're really in need of a laptop, look at PCs. If you still want a Mac, maybe the TiBook is better quality.

in your case I would believe people who argued that your problems were due to user error

Not user error...there is no way. I am a very experienced Mac user (have been since the early '90s), and I carried around my iBook in bubble wrap. Also, I never took it apart either (don't know how on a laptop).

Paris. And yeah, maybe it's not a coincidence. But you know, as much as I like my new toy, technology is a poor substitute for luv... Uh oh, that's going to provoke snickers.

No wonder, you sealed it in plastic bubble wrap and then ran it to death due to heat!! String him up!!!
Dude, what went wrong? Circumstances? Actual problem? If you can't give this information then don't expect anyone to believe what you have to say.

For the actual problemS, see my thread in the "Current Hardware" page. And I don't know WHY all this went wrong when I took such good care of it. And I'm afraid to send it in again, since last time it came back worse (and they damaged my battery - it came back all scraped up). I'm just glad I had my Airport and RAM taken out before I shipped it to Apple - who knows if those would have been gone or partially functional when my iBook came back. *shudders*

I want one so badly. I have the money. But I just know they'll update it or give it a price cut the minute after I buy it.

Really? You must have a lemon.
The iPod is a killer product, I love mine. 852 songs and still 1.1 Gigs left. a great piece of modern technology.
