I agree with Eugene, Barry has to comeback and take the rushing stats away from Emmitt.
Regarding the above photo of the iMac in a box that looks almost dirty, it is amazing that good computer design allows for elegant packaging as well.
Product Line Desires:
PB: screen res. obviously
iB: G4 obviously
PM: Quads, Octs, more BTO options
iM: screen options and TV tuner BTO
iP: Easier HD functionality
Cubes: Bring them back as a product line as Deluxe Airport hub with options for audio-in, out and Video-in, out and options for multiple processors for in home cluster computing or for enterprise computing...okay, off the deep end....but sell them as boxes for Linux geeks to play with...their insides would have to be re-engineered to take cheaper off-the shelf components...okay, stupid idea.
-CD-Rom or DVD-rom ONLY option (i dont want to have to pay for an int burner when I can buy and ext one that is faster and works will all my macs)
-VGA video SPANNING!!! and RGB output similar to the iBook's headphone port
-133+ bus standard including low end
-Apollo+1MB L3 Cache
iBook-(not really a feature) NO MORE 14" iBOOKS, if they want the 14" make them pay a premium, the 12" should still be standard!!! IT IS SO NICE!! also 14" should have video spanning (perk)
-DVD-Only option to be on par with combo drive (600MHz, etc.)--same price (1299)
-combo drive on par with 14" in terms of speed
-100+ MHz bus standard including low end
-sahara
PM-G5(well, DUH) and everything that comes with it--UMA 2.0, DDR, F/W2, USB 2, ATA 100 (133 is overkill), etc... also DUAL option for ALL speeds (only highest speed is retail)
-New case with 2 5.25" bays (one can be converted to a 3.5"er) and 1 f/w port on the front (usb on display and keyboard) speaker moved so it faces down, only plays alert sounds...
-5.1 surround sound option and sound no longer built in (add 1 more PCI slot) on a PCI... (this way you could use the 2nd 5.25 bay for an EQ if you wanted...) also RGB output similar to the iBook's headphone port
-200+bus standard (except REALLY cheap low end)
-L3 cache STANDARD
TiBook-DPI same as 12" iBook
-ATI 7500 mobile standard, nVidia4 GO as a BTO option for the whiners out there
-Offer cheap DVD-Only option with no bells and whistles (screen res/GPU) for same price as 14" iBook, maybe $100 premium
-RGB output similar to the iBook's headphone port
-133+bus standard (except REALLY cheap low end)
-Apollo+L3 Cache
iPod-REMOTE--DOES NOT NEED NEW MODEL
-SEARCH BY GENRE--DOES NOT NEED NEW MODEL
-MORE SIZE OPTIONS
-ability to control iTunes from iPod when connected to computer (IE search the COMPUTER's library, see what song is playing, all from the iPod's screen so iTunes does not have to come to the front)--DOES NOT NEED NEW MODEL
90% of these suggestions are reasonable and should happen in the next 6 months, some MUCH faster (cough*iPod*cough)
-Paul
Edit: forgot displays and airport...
displays-cheaper
-widescreen 17" (pipe-dream)
-better DPI as you increase size...
-bundle promo permanent
-ability to connect to TiBook/iBook/iMac with some sort of adapter
Airport-cheaper
-standard on high end machine on every line
-basestation with dsl/cable router built in along with phone jack and 2(1) ethernet ports...
-faster, but backwards compatible
-USB printer sharing: make it a no-brainer
General comments-portables: longer batt life (use batt tech in iPod)
--illuminated keyboards??(maybe the white keys do this already)
-desktops:iSub/Pro speakers bundle
--5.1 option
-all:USB2 on machine, USB1 on keyboard/display
--FW2 standard
--better software bundes (apple works, office discount, vpc discount, "shareware money" (Apple pays for first $50 of shareware***THIS COULD BE HUGE FOR SMALL DEVELOPERS), others)
I can't say I agree, but the 14" iBook maybe the choice of the aging generation. Don't trash the 14" iBook until the market has decided....who cares if the 12" one is better.

I wasnt trashing it, i was just saying that the 12" should stay the standard... this is for many reasons... to differentiate between the TiBook, smaller=lighter=better. It looks better, any other reasons?
Comments

iBook: get an option down to 10" screen to push the subnotebook catagory.
