Ok, what name(s) have you given to your Mac(s) (and other computers) ???

And why that / those name(s) ??

My iBook is LoZen ...

And the Acer with RedHat (yesh! no windows..) LaKalsa. My theory is the computers really get pissed off if you change their name cos when i changed LaKalsa to Guevara it didn't work So 'he' has the same name now in linux he had in windows

I've never explained those name reasons to anyone i guess.. Maye someone'll guess it.

My drives are named Shiro and Hercules in an homage to the old sci-fi show <a href="http://www.sfxb.co.uk/"; target="_blank">StarFleet.

That's where my original AppleInsider handle came from too.

I named my computer Hammer, not after the tool, but the legendary and immortal hero from The Runelords by David Farland. This computer better last me long enough to be referred to as legendary, or someone I know and love will have a new, very unflattering name...

Hm well my first drive is AlphaDrive and second is BetaDrive, since they are hard drives, not computers, after all... my computer's name (under file sharing anyway) is Zamael - the angel who teaches and doubles all sexual pleasures

I haven't named my iBook yet, I don't know if I ever will. However, I did experiment with interesting names for it with the Speech control panel. I tried different replacements for "Computer"

    Like "Bitch", for example.

Example: "Bitch, what time is it?" (the wife found this to be hillarious).

    MDMA Prime.

MDMA stands for Mercury Digital Media Artists, the name of my (completely fictional) production company.

I named my new LCD iMac "Brancusi" because to me it looks like something along the lines of his sculpture -- a bit like his "Bird in Space."
