iPhone 6s & 6s Plus preorders sell out within 30 minutes in Samsung's home of South Korea
The first batch of South Korean preorders for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus sold out within minutes on Monday at the country's three major cellphone carriers, setting a blockbuster pace ahead of Friday's official launch.

One of the companies, KT, topped 10,000 orders within one minute and closed applications less than 10 minutes later after 50,000 preorder units were claimed, Yonhap reported. Similarly, LG Uplus halted preorders within five minutes.
SK Telecom took slightly longer to end preorders, shuttering them after 30 minutes. The company declined to say how many units it recorded, but market watchers quoted by Yonhap estimate the figure at 50,000.
KT opened up a second round of reservations later in the day, but didn't comment on performance.
The latest iPhones will launch in Korea on Friday, Oct. 23. Preorders had been scheduled for last week, but were delayed for reasons unknown. Yonhap pointed to speculation that telecom authorities asked carriers to avoid "overheating" the market.
The iPhone is a popular device in South Korea, in spite of two of Apple's biggest competitors -- Samsung and LG -- being based in the region. Samsung in fact recently cut the price of the Galaxy S6 to 799,700 won ($706), also preparing a "pink gold" option to match Apple's rose gold. LG recently launched its V10 phone for 799,700 won, a rare thing in a market where flagship phones typically start over 800,000 won.

Wait what's this? Oh yeah Apple is Doomed!
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Samsung's HQ to see the expressions on their faces if this news is in fact accurate.
ScamScum puts out such crap, it's sweet schadenfreude for me.
The news of the Samsung 'Pink Gold' (or Rose Gold copy) colour they are rushing out seems to of made a difference. /s
On a side note: a friend's gf had a pink metallic car. Last time she said it's now rose gold

Considering Samsung is providing processors for some of the 6S/6S+ and LPDDR3 for all, then they're all probably pretty happy at the success.
If we're conservative, and say 6 times, that results in the equivelant of 300 thousand pre orders per seller. That's a total of 900 thousand pre orders. That's pretty good.

Has nothing to do with Samsung Mobile.
Has nothing to do with Samsung Mobile.
So? Still part of the Samsung group. I can't imagine them being bitter about their own company making money.

Quote was for Samsung HQ.

Both of you are irrelevant - anyone with half a brain understood what was meant.
Samsung Mobile is going to be pissed at this news. Samsung Semi will be happy. Like two brothers and the hot girl next door. One of them is in love with her, the other hates her with a passion. She flirts with the one brother, and laughs at the other. Everyone wants to be like her.
They're both part of Samsung electronics, and so, yes, they're pretty happy.
It doesn't matter what the guys running the mobile division think. Apple's relationship with Samsung goes much deeper. Though, in an article in Seeming Alpha, it's believed that Apple may move more of its SoC production to TSMC, and possibly, all of it. If so, then Samsung won't be happy. Almost 50% of its chip production goes to Apple.
"It's blush and bashful."

Do you have any idea the size of the Samsung group? It's not some tiny little chip manufacturer that exists solely because of Apple paying them to produce chips. They've got $300bn in revenue and more than $500bn in assets, and contracts into the tens of billions for things like building nuclear power plants and providing petrochemical storage.
Samsung's entire electronic division - encompassing phones, computers, NAND, RAM, CPUs, TVs & home theatre, white good and contracts with other companies providing parts - is only worth 37% of what Samsung is, and Apple's contract is only worth $14bn, including building new manufacturing and fabrication plants for said technologies.
You can read a complete breakdown of their profits and overall structure here. I'm not saying that the loss of a $14bn contract will be unnoticed by the company, but I very much doubt that either company really bogs themselves down with petty bickering over brands and ultimately does what is good for business and good for perpetuating their existence. Realistically, both are more concerned with milking their sheeple fanboys of all they are worth.
And now we have another iPhone 6 clone.

Tomorrow, analysts will claim this a huge failure by Apple because it took 30 minutes to sell out and not 29 minutes.
