purchase advice -

i want to buy a reasonable quality scanner that has a solid os x native driver, and an ability to interface via photoshop elements 2.0.

i want to do some 35 mm slide and film strip scanning as well as normal flatbed.

i would like to have a reasonable ocr capability.

epson 2450 photo comes close but does not have a os x driver ( epson promised on avail in march - not yet)

suggestions and recommendations are welcome

Jaguar will include some built-in scanner support.

see the <a href="http://www.apple.com/macosx/"; target="_blank">jag page</a> for details on supported models as of ship date. epson support seems built in (if you read the I/O support section of the <a href="http://www.apple.com/macosx/jaguar/morefeatures.html"; target="_blank">morefeatures</a> page), but the main link includes mention of canon osX scanner drivers too.

Epson also has the OS X drive which is in beta stage. But it works very well and works under Jaguar.

Funny this beta is even better than the "final" for OS 9
