On pins and needles....

I ordered my new iBook last Wednesday, and it still hasn't arrived. I do however have a new Airport sitting on my desk that arrived yesterday. It is sheer torture to see the piece I can't hope to use by itself, staring at me on my desk. Even worse yet, is the tracking number for Federal Express shows the plane took off from Tiawan yesterday morning around 9am CST, but the package hasnt been scanned/checked in since. A call too Fedex, and I am told my package landed in Indianapolis, cleared customs, and will be on my doorstep tomorrow before 10am CST. I don't feel better though

Since this is my first Apple product, I am excited to say the least to try it out. I feel like I am 10yrs old again, and its 2 weeks to Christmas. The adult in me says I can make it the next 24hrs, and the kid wanting his new toy in me says they will be horribly long.

Wish I could distract myself, I am sure my boss agrees

It's torture, I know. I'm useless at work when I have a new Mac on the way... can't stop obsessing over it until it's in my hands.

So with my buying habits, I'm basically totally unproductive atleast 4-5 days per month.

Just forget about work, sneak a cold beer to your desk, and immerse yourself in Mac sites. What the hell, it's all you're thinking about anyway.

I wish it were that easy. I dont know about many Mac sites, being new to all this. About the only sites I visit are AI, or Apple.com. I am bored with hitting refresh every hour or so to see if anyone has posted anything interesting

    To quote Apple:

    700MHz PowerPC G3

    512K L2 cache @700MHz

    System bus @100MHz

    256MB SDRAM memory

    30GB Ultra ATA drive

    Combo Drive

    AirPort ready

Up to 6 hr. battery life

    Only 5.9 pounds!

It has the Airport card installed, and the Airport base is sitting here on my desk, staring at me pitifully
