    Someone mentioned a "dead-stick" landing.

    It wasn't.

Probably landed with the gear up, but "dead stick" refers to the engine ... meaning it's not running. In the photo, all propeller blades are bent, indicating it was turning when the aircraft hit the ground. While an engine will "windmill" when the engine is not running, it takes a substantial amount of airspeed... in this case, he would have slowed enough for the propeller to stop spinning before he touched down (especially if he knew he was landing without the gear down).

No big deal, I also sit in front of the TV and bitch at the reporters when they never get ANYTHING right ANYTIME a plane crashes.

This is the wildest post I have read on this site. I liked the relation between something so old and something so new and innovative. haha
