For the fifth time in a row, Apple CEO Tim Cook is reportedly attending the annual Sun Valley retreat in Idaho, which plays host to rich elites from the corporate and political worlds.

Some of the corporate leaders in attendance this year include Twitter's Jack Dorsey, Comcast's Brian Roberts, Disney's Bob Iger, General Motors' Mary Barra, and Fox heads James and Lachlan Murdoch, Re/code reported on Wednesday. Sun Valley is commonly focused on the high-tech and media worlds.

People invited to Sun Valley by the event's host -- investment banking firm Allen & Company -- will often use the gathering as an excuse to forge new deals, though these are usually kept under wraps until afterwards.

Apple is highly dependent on media deals, since it needs a constant stream of content for iTunes, the App Store, the Apple TV, and Apple Music. The company has been rumored as working on a streaming TV service, but in recent months that talk has largely died down.

As with last year, Cook is being joined by his senior VP of internet software and services, Eddy Cue, according to CNBC's Julia Boorstin. The pair were spotted talking to Iger, a member of Apple's board of directors.

Sun Valley began on Tuesday, and is scheduled to run through Saturday.

Yes, and you would love to be a member of the 1% club if you could.
