So is this the end of the line for the 'i' family?

None of the new apps released today were 'i'Apps (not including updates). Also, the iLife suite is now made of 4 interconnected puzzle pieces which form a square.

I think Apple will begin to move into a new paradigm. I'm not sure what it will be but everyone thought Safari would be 'iBrowse' or something. Also, 'Keynote' sounds less whimsical and more 'adult.' Afterall, it is a presentation app for presentations the 'really matter.'

My guess is that AppleWorks will be EOLed and we will see a Word Processor and SpreadSheet w/ names like Keynote. Thus, another suite will be created of seperate but connected apps.

Cool possibilities.

We're probably going to see some interesting names like Keynote or Safari... like for a word processor, maybe "Scribe" and spreadsheets, "Cell"...

Though AppleWorks does have the painting and drawing aspect, not sure what Apple will do with that. Omnigraffle may replace the drawing though, since it is bundled with pro macs. Or maybe we'll see "Sketch" or "Paint"...

    Just a thought...

All of the iApps (with the odd exception of iChat) seem to tie into the digital hub. Everything else gets something more creative.

At least, that seems to be their rough strategy...

I'm glad they didn't call Safari "iBrowse."
