thinksecret annoys

OK, maybe this is the wrong forum, not sure, but....does anyone else find the "spinning" that TS is doing annoying? It remnds me of the stuff Spymac does....making a bunch of guesses and statements, then post-expo picking and choosing the facts to show how right they are.

In this case - TS explicitly said "Laptops and Power Macs will also not get a makeover, sources confirm", which they gave a 100%. Then they use a lot of weaseling to say "it was clear something big was up" and point out that nobody (almost) got it right.

I would also argue that their prediction about the iApps was off, as they said if you wanted an upgrade, you would have to pay, which is only true for one of them.

In all, they DID do a good job of predicting - that is undoubtedly true. I just think it looks disingenuous to spin things and not just say "prediction 1 - we were 100% wrong, prediction 2, we were right, prediction 3...."

Whew. I feel better now.

Being a rumor site is not easy and I am sure he got info from a bunch of idiots as well. Not defending TS here but just saying...dude...its just a rumor site. Get over it.

ThinkSecret is about as close to a "reliable" rumors site as we have right now, which may not be saying much. But I did think their pre-MWSF calls smacked of a lot of unnecessary attitude, all that stuff about Jobs putting a lot of positive spin on "his Apple stores" and such. Kind of tasteless, and their inability to admit being wrong only adds to it. Someone over there is stockpiling a lot of bad karma.

Maybe I was unclear in my original post - I recognize that they are just a rumor site, and that their record is very, very good. I actually generally like TS, and would put their rumors up against any others (except maybe ATAT, who rarely speculate, but when they do....)

There is nothing to "get over" (in fact, that remark seems a little silly - what is it I should get over? Was there an indication that I would NOT "get over" this putative thing, or was the entreaty just an effort to assist me?).

That, my dear fellows, is why I ONLY go with one rumor site. The ONLY one that matters and is ALWAYS dead-on:

MOSR. The King of All Mac Rumor Sites.

    I'm kidding, of course.

I ignore them all and make up my own wild-ass horsecrap. More fun that way!
