is it even possible to damage phone with bad inductive charger?

It is possible to buy a quote Qi charger unquote from the far-east, for under $2 including delivery,.

I have seen warnings about bad chargers but they mostly deal with heat emanations or chargers catching fire.  I can deal with that and test for that.

What I want to know is, can a charger actually hurt the iPhone with inductive energy?
If so, how can I test that a charger is NOT going to up and destroy my phone with inductive energy?

Could somebody maliciously deploy a destructive inductive charger?  Should i be worried about putting my phone down on an unknown device or table?  Could somebody come up to me and get the phone in my pocket with an inductive weapon?

The contrary question is, does the phone absolutely control how much energy it absorbs?

If you have experience with this, please say so.  On the other hand, if you have a published source, I'd like to continue reading on this topic.  thanks!

Well, all I know for sure is that there is a MFi process for Lightning cables and AC adapters.

    Qi chargers? Nope.
