With the obvious influence of iOS, the should have called it Apple Pie.
What should Apple call iOS now since many of the gestures introduced with the X existed elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad Apple is using them as they work really well. I like when good ideas spread. I like the things iOS nicked from WebOS.

Gestures have been around along time, even before the MessagePad. The fact that the world's "library" of gestures has grown over a plethora of different sources is due to diffusion. You probably would want to credit a lot of others for what WebOS "nicked" as well.

iOS biggest influence has been it's business model, creating the duopoly of either an "open" or a "walled garden" platform. Looks like consolidation of device makers is going to result in more of the "walled garden" approach to build revenue on services, at least for the very few Android OS device makers who survive the great culling.
