Yeah, someone with OW 4 needs to let us know how OW 4.5 SP1 performs/looks. Brad?

It looks the same as far as I can tell. And I've forgotten that it looks better than safari. Speed also seems better, though I haven't tested it extensively yet. I'll try some heavy pages and post back.

    Loading pages on gamezone.com (OW 4.5sp1/Safari v62/OW 4.2 v435.5):

    page 1: XBox 7/5/13

    page 2: PS2 5/4/10

    page 3: New Games 7/6/14

    page 4: All Games 5/4/12

Keep in mind that this was informal testing and I didn't repeat loads, so network traffic could be causing some of the delays. These were pages I hadn't visited before in any browser.

edit: changed Safari version to v62 from v64... I got a little ahead of myself.

Speed is better for me, not as good as Safari, but significantly better than 4.2. Rendering hiccups, yes, but finally javascript rollovers...

So this one uses the same rendering engine as Safari?

That's right. The same rendering engine as in Safari. Maccentral says that, "OmniWeb 4.5 is planned as a free upgrade for OmniWeb 4.x owners, and should be available later this quarter, according to The Omni Group."

If OW 4.5 is based on Safari and will be out in this time frame, I guess we also have a time fram for when Safari will go 1.0.

no popup blocking??? or ad blocking

im not happy... \ may as well use safari without these features...

Also spelling is not turned on by default, as in safari

    damn, still needs some work

Don't know what you're talking about I've got ad blocking and popup blocking.... Maybe my prefs from 4.1 carried over.

dont know what to say, i had ads blocked on AI and now they are back, and i still get popups on maccentral... and lots of other places I didn't used to get them... spelling automatically off is a REAL pain in the ass...

I'm back to Camino, after trying out this Sneakypeaky-doo.

But I will switch back to OmniWeb, as soon as it has the new core completely implemented.

mad props to the OmniGroup! Good Job.

I like OmniWeb. However, this crashed on the first website I tried it on earlier today (www.wetter.de).

Don't get all bent out of shape. This is our FIRST sneaky peek. There is a lot of stuff that still needs to be hooked up to the new engine. Stuff is being fixed by the minute. Keep following the sneaky peeks stuff should get a lot better in coming days and weeks.
