michael moore's speech @ UT (hook 'em horns!)

i am loathe to bring his name back up, but michael moore's speech monday night at the university of texas earned him a standing ovation. admittedly boos and jeers rang out during the speech, but over all it appears he wowed the longhorn crowd.

passing around your oscar can't hurt either.

he did refer to the war as the war of mass distractions.

here's the link that comes from canada.com (entertainment division) so you know it's true blue and bona-fide.

In this article when it refers to "a standing ovation" it means the Oscars NOT the UT lecture. As far as I can tell we don't know the UT reaction.

    Quote:

Moore won his first Oscar last month for Bowling for Columbine, an examination of gun violence in America. He received a standing ovation when he won and a mixture of cheers and boos with his fiery criticism of Bush - a speech he said he hadn't prepared.

    From The Daily Texan:

"We actually have someone in the White House who thinks he's God,"

No, Michael, the person behind the podium is the one with the God complex.

It has been demonstrated that Moore was dishonest in his "documentary".

I have trouble giving credence to liars.

There's a nice thread lingering around here somewhere that lists a great number of lies George Bush has made to push this country towards war.

I'm glad to hear you're having trouble giving Bush any credence.

"a speech he said he hadn't prepared."

Bullshit. he did almost the same speech at an indie media awards a few nights before...only difference is that it went better for him there, so he didn't crumple under pressure + sound rushed like he did at the Oscars.

He "sounded rushed" at the Oscars because...i don't know... he didn't have time?

It was a short speech, which he had practiced elsewhere + knew what his damn time limit was...I particularly don't care what the reasons were for his spectacularly bad oratory, but we can agree to disagree on this point.

Micheal Moore & Ariel Sharon should take up Sumo Wrestling.

Both have the natural girth to match their overblown egos.
