It's Apple Card payment due date for most, and an outage is causing problems

  Something very much like that happened to me on December 31st. I called Apple Card support and was told that she had gotten a call like mine "many times" that day. I paid early this month and will do so from now on.

  This is why I don’t like scheduling payments on the actual due date. When possible, I schedule them for about a week in advance. I have my Apple Card set to automatically pay the previous statement balance on the 25th instead of waiting until the last day of the month. I wish all vendors let you schedule automatic payments for about a week before the due date instead of just ON the due date.
  
  I’m assuming that any interest accrued because of these payment issues will be refunded, but it’s still a pain to deal with.

  If that happens you'll likely get any late fees and interest penalties waved, but you may have to call in to get it worked out which means using your time as well dealing with the stress that comes from a responsible person not being able to pay their bill on
  

  
  

  For those reasons, you may want to pay it earlier in the month. A good time to pay your GS Apple Card around the middle of the month. This is because they seem to report to credit bureaus around the 3rd week of the month. What they report is if you paid on time since the last update, your credit usage, and your credit limit—the last two which tell the bureaus have much of your revolving credit is currently utilized.

  
  

  This means that even if you pay off your card in full each month, if you use it heavily each month you could have a utilization rate each month that negatively affects your credit score and certainly works against your debt to income ratio if you're trying to make a large purchase, like a house. You can sometimes google this info,z but I've mostly found that I've had to call to find out when my creditors are usually doing the reporting.

  The problem with trying to pay early is that, at least for me, I don't get the option to pay with Apple cash (up to what I have) and having the balance after that paid from my checking account.   Any time I try and pay befoee the deadline it only wants to take from my checking account. But paying on the due date will take from Apple cash first and balance from checking.

  A user generated submission could run into a problem but I’d imagine an “autopay”, internally generated payment wouldn’t be going through the same protocols and be fine. 

  
  

  I’ve got all my payments on autopilot, subject to my notification and potential adjustment, but no outside glitch can cause a miss.

  I don't know of anyway to pay on the AppleCard "online" (meaning via a web browser).

  Yeh, that's weird.  
  

  And it almost caused me to miss my payment this month:   I had to transfer money from AppleCash to my checking account in order to cover the balance on my AppleCard.   So, I planned on scheduling the payment after the money had transferred -- but then I forgot about it till I got a reminder on the 30th that my payment was due.

  
  

  It seems Apple should be encouraging payments from their own AppleCash rather than blocking them.

  Basically everybody accepts AppleCash except Apple!

  You certainly can now. I think it's been at least a year, I believe.
