Apple might release iOS 16.4.1

Some iPhone users have recently noticed problems with the Weather app in iOS. People worldwide have experienced a blank screen in the app saying there is no available data, though Apple's system status page only mentions Alaska.

According to Apple, the issues began at 11:00 pm Eastern on Monday. On Tuesday, a rumor has surfaced about a new software update.

Citing an unknown source with a "proven track record," MacRumors believes that Apple is planning to release iOS 16.4.1 either this week or next. A couple of Twitter users also mentioned problems with Wi-Fi passwords in iOS 16.4.

Separately, some Mac users have reported network connection problems with macOS Ventura 13.3. As a result, users who connected to Apple devices over an SMB connection or from Apple to Windows were suddenly unable to do so.

It's not unusual for Apple to release minor updates like iOS 16.4.1 to address security vulnerabilities or significant problems with the software. People can find and install updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

Might fix. Dumbest statement ever… it might rain. It might not. There might be peace in world, it might not. What a useless statement.

I experienced this issue right after installing 16.4, and this morning it hit the weather app full-on with blank data, including my Apple Watch.

Left the weather app open for a while, and after 2 minutes it finally refreshed.

I've also experienced the wifi issues since installing Ventura 13.3 and iOS 16.4.

The Weather app loading issue actually started before the installation of 16.4, and it hasn’t changed after that.

I only recall one time recently when Weather wouldn't update and quitting the app and restarting it fixed it.  A bigger problem with weather is the interface.  I don't like it nearly as much as the Dark Sky interface.  I find it clunky and you have to select separate options to get the basic information like precipitation, wind, etc..  And their summary of the precipitation can be blatantly screwy - with today's rainfall not being mathematically possible with the other information on the page.  Also, precipitation is usually given as the amount that has fallen since midnight - not in the the last 24 hours.  I find the Weather app to be generally unhelpful.

I often have a problem with Exercise not updating the overall calories.   I don't recall the overall being less than the move total, but if I've been wearing my watch for 12 hours, and have 12 hours of "Stand" showing as well as even a few minutes of Exercise, there's no way that the overall calories burned at that point is less then 750!  Actually quitting the app and reopening it, I've had the overall calorie count suddenly increase by over 1,000 calories!  They also need to add some real world exercises - such as shoveling snow off the driveway or chopping wood!

Last few days, have seen same problem on Ventura 13.2.1.

Using "reset identifier" (under weather tab) seems to clear problem most of the time.  Slow to update at times.
Once I get it to populate the window, I keep it minimized.  Also see similar problem with weather widget.
Believe "reset identifier" (tracking?) was also the correction for a similar problem in Stocks app back on Big Sur about a year (or more) ago.
As a work-around, have been using AccuWeather or weather.com website (but a bit less convenient).
