President Trump is irritated about Apple not completely killing DEI initiatives

President Trump has weighed in on Apple's "culture of belonging" with a single post to Truth Social -- and it's about what you'd expect.

On Tuesday, Apple held its annual shareholder meeting for 2025. As expected, the company covered many topics, including a DEI-related proposal from conservative-think tank National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR).

CEO Tim Cook told shareholders the company would rather maintain its current diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) program and its associated policies and hiring practices. The shareholders overwhelmingly voted to maintain current practices.

Unsurprisingly, President Trump has taken to Truth Social to give his opinion on the matter.

Social media post criticizing Apple's DEI rules, calling them a hoax. Dated February 26, 2025, at 8:01 AM.

Cook had predicted that this would likely happen. He preemptively told shareholders the company would only change its policies if it were legally obligated to.

"As the legal landscape around this issue evolves, we may need to make some changes to comply, but our north star of dignity and respect for everyone and our work to that end will never waver," said Cook. He added that the company would continue to work on "a culture of belonging where everyone can do their best work."

Apple's stance on its diversity, equity, and inclusion policies has remained strong and consistent over the years. In fact, Cook credited this as one of the reasons the company is successful.

And, with a $3.7 trillion market cap as of February 26, it's hard to argue.

Apple maintains that there are no DEI-related hiring quotas.

Whether or not this will result in an executive order or law change remains to be seen. However, given Trump's propensity for signing executive orders, it wouldn't be surprising if he sought to exterminate DEI country-wide in the immediate future.

Recently, Trump has called for the end of DEI programs in both the government and private sector, claiming that the practices discriminate against other Americans. Many US companies, including the likes of Meta, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs, have all rolled back or outright ended their DEI programs to gain the favor of the Trump administration.

Logical fallacy: how could Donald Trump tell if a company had ended DEI if his goal was to end discriminatory practices? Lack of discrimination in hiring would = diversity.

What Trump will likely do is ban any federal contracts with companies that still have strong DEI programs in place. I am not sure how much business Apple does with the federal government, but that would likely be a very good reason for Apple to significantly curtail if not eliminate DEI which in my opinion is a good thing.

Of all the issues that the President of the United States has to address how do Apple's business practices even rank?

Rewrite to policy adding in some trump republican bs doublespeak and say it’s changed. Then operate business as usual. The most successful company in history is obviously doing something right.

Just like Putin can't accept a potential democracy next door, Trump can't accept a successful company to think differently.

Likely as it is not the President of the United States addressing those issues. It is a deranged and unhinged specimen of humanity with a personal agenda cloaked as that of the country's. What's more concerning is the number of people supporting him in it.

The man who drove multiple gambling casinos into bankruptcy is just the guy you want handing out business advice.

Good thing trumps' handlers are doing all the dirty work in his name.
That frees him up to do the truly important work like insulting Apple's corporate policies or cozying up to Putin.

Lee Atwater, Nixon's political strategist who in turn gave rise to Karl Rove and today's toxic GOP:

Questioner: But the fact is, isn't it, that Reagan does get to the Wallace voter and to the racist side of the Wallace voter by doing away with legal services, by cutting down on food stamps?
Atwater: Y'all don't quote me on this. You start out in 1954 by saying, "Ni**er, ni**er, ni**er". By 1968, you can't say "ni**er"—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busingstates' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this", is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "Ni**er, ni**er". So, any way you look at it, race is coming on the back-burner.

"DEI" is the new "ni**er" for MAGA Republicans.

slightly more important than renaming the Gulf of Mexico and somewhat lower than using lethal force to colonize two free nations that have made it clear they don't want to be part of the USA.

How would the federal government ban DEI for contractors while also claiming that they support non-discrimination? How would that work as an argument in a federal court?

I sure am glad this master negotiator is going to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to a satisfactory resolution that certainly won't be complete capitulation to whatever Russia wants. Adopting in its entirety the position of his purported negotiating adversary is some 11th-dimensional chess right there, my friends.

I get why people are not down with annexing Canada, sovereign nation, ally and all of that Jazz. But hear me out. Canada has a population the that is slightly larger than California. So when you factor that into the electoral college, we wouldn't see a Republican POTUS  again.

Paraphrasing a a meme I recently saw: perhaps for the first time in history when using the phase “he’s an idiot”, 90% of the people will know who you are referring to.

A post against "woke" Apple serves to distract the magamoron masses from the record-high price of eggs, the worst consumer sentiment since 2021, the looming signs of recession, all topped by the chaos and cruelty that results when a pudgy, ketamine-fueled chainsaw is set loose on the U.S. government. On the brighter side, Europe had the good sense to send sales of fElon's Swazticar nose-diving by 45% last month, and hopefully the U.S. will follow suit.

The end of DEI means promotion of incompetent white guys--like Hegseth and RFKjr.  More competent women and minorities are the losers. So... no thanks, little man!

Sadly many companies are falling in line with Trump's sickness, in order to curry his favor and avoid government scrutiny. This has been all over the news.
