hey folks, for anyone who's interested, there's a new Hulk trailer leading in Bruce Almighty. the cool thing is that they have done some SERIOUS color, lighting, and some texture editing since the initial god-awful teaser-trailer months ago (was it last year?).

anyway, if the audio and bass is cranked in the movie theaters, i believe those bellows, stomps, thuds, etc. are gonna rattle me in my seat (though i think this movie SCREAMS for force-feedback theater seating).

anyway, the movie might suck (but with ang lee directing and jennifer connely just to look at, i am keeping an open mind).

here's the trailer site, for your convenience...

New Hulk trailer... if at first you don't succeed, try and try and try and try and try again!

I'm a self-confessed Batman fan, but I was excited to hear about a Hulk movie. So far, the trailers have looked kind of Roger-Rabbit-ish. Maybe the studio was smart and put out some low-res renders just to get the trailers out for publicity....if the new renders are better than what they had playing in front of X-Men then I'm interested.....I sure hope that Hulk does SMASH some green at the box office.....that might pave the way to an Iron Man movie.

    Did someone say Iron Man?

I'm going to see the Hulk regardless. I grew up with that stuff.

I want to see it but I have a real fear this movie will suck like a hoover.

Oh God it scares me. I'm scared this comic book thing is going to fall on its ass.

I watched the preview trailers and I was, like, wait a minute...he's HUGE in this scene and kinda huge in the next...then HUGE HUGE when he's in that scene!!!! Arrrghgh! CG trickery at it's worst!!!

And as I was lamenting this observation today I was informed that The Hulk® gets BIGGER as he gets MADDER. Well, silly me. I don't remember that from the Lou Ferigno days. Doh.

I want to see some Iron Man vs. 40 story tall Sentinels, baby, in a Manga/Japanamation (think Appleseed, etc) tech look.

    Yeah baby.

    Yeah, baby, Yeah!!!

edit: I hope its really sci-fi.

Yes, me thinks this Hulk movie will suck big time. I don't get Hollywood's fixation with all these CGI special effects. Why couldn't they just tone it down and bring Lou Ferigno (sp?) back! At least make this thing look realistic, not some gigantic freak like they have on the trailers!

By the way, did anyone here grow up watching Ultraman? He fought all those wonderful Japanese monsters like Mothra and Godzilla.

The television show was okay, but Hulk purists will tell you that it's just not the "real" Hulk...it was just The Fugitive in green paint. The comicbook Hulk really DID look that HUGE. I know a funny story about Lou Ferrigno and The Planet of the Apes movie that Tim Burton did a year or two ago.....

....Ferrigno really wanted to be in the new Apes movie, as he'd always been a huge fan of the originals. He showed up at the lot (Sony I think) and stood outside the stage waiting to see if somebody would escort him and his entourage inside (he didn't have a badge). A grip I know worked the show and would go outside to the craft service table from time to time and Lou would just be standing out there waiting. Inside, when Tim Burton was told that he had a guest who wanted to see him he (supposedly) said something to the effect "Lou who? I don't have time to see anybody...tell him to go away" (director's really ARE super-busy, always). At the end of the shooting day Ferrigno was still standing outside waiting to get in, and Burton had to leave the stage and walk right past him...so he got one of the spacesuits and put it on and walked out the door right past Lou.

Too bad for Lou....he did a good job with the Hulk on the series. You can usually catch him at the bigger sci-fi and comicbook cons. He'll likely see a spike in attention this year, good for his wallet....he charges $20 to sign an autograph at these events.
