I have been a lurker on these boards for a long time and find so many long-time posters to be so rude in their replies. So this guy may not have seen the notice at the top of the board... give him a break and don't be so sarcastic.
To the original poster, usually when they make an announcement the hardware/software is immediately available or at least within a week.

I really wouldnt say usually. Lately when they announce software its available pretty quickly, but hardware such as the imac g4 and most recently the Xserve (which still isnt shipping) are examples of many product releases in the last few years that havent shipped within a week.
Probably depends somewhat on the demand, big bump=big demand=long lead times. little bump=little demand=short lead times.
Apple does seem more willing now to preannounce products, the IMac,eMac, and xServe were announced before they were available. If I was running the show I might announce the new PowerMac G5 with Jaguar preinstalled shipping August 15th
Fact is this is a pretty silly thread... First... we don't even have IRON CLAD proof that we will see a new PowerMac in the first place. Since we don't have that it's a pretty good bet that nobody will have any info on shipping either.
Now yea it's really fun for us to SPECULATE about what new hardware COULD be. Sometimes we even get tips from people that claim to be in the know... other times we get info from people talking out their backside. This is all part of the game we call 'future hardware'
but this person is speculationg about 'shipping of speculated future hardware' and thought it was a good idea to start a thread about it?!?!
Sorry but I can't see the point in that at all.

mm, I remember waiting a month to get the new iMac for my wife, and fealt sorry for those who didn't get the superdrive model which was another month or so later.
Not to mention the dual 1ghz with Ti, I think that just started shipping last week.
