Lymphoid: Thanks for the original post for this thread, interesting to contemplate.

Ensoniq: I appreciated your message too, made me actually post my first message

Personally, I don't believe most of what I read on any of the rumor boards, but I do enjoy the speculation and thought-provoking comments and views. Let's face it, if you only want true died-in-the-wool secret Apple insiders posting, then you could probably count on one hand how many posts this (and other rumor forums) would get each year. What fun would that be?

Don't worry Lemon, early next year your condition will be cured. I heard from insider little birdie troll marmosets who work for Mr. Horse that the G5 will be co-released/co-branded with the new John K. Ren and Stimpy episodes next year.

    Lemon Bon Bon / BobtheTomato,

You sum it up well. You made me laugh so hard, I cried (well beyond FOFLOL). Thanks to both of you!!

Just to remain on subject, IMO :

The river deepens= either G4.5 or G5 (more pipes)

    The path widens= DDR imminent

The mountain pass melts= I like Programmer's idea here, transition to IBM as the main manufacturer

<edit: I didn't like the way it posted, changed format, but not wording>

Sorry, but isn't it more likely Lymphoid was speaking peotically about the Mac experience in general and not metaphorically about specific happenings in hardware development? Isn't more likely "The river deepens, the path widens, the mountain pass melts..." simply refers to the ending of our winter of discontent regarding performance, and a new hopeful spingtime of opportunity? But, mebbe it's more fun looking for hidden meaning in everything.....

It's on the level. I can't believe it either. Early next year TNN will air all new Ren & Stimpy episodes produced by the master himself, John K.

i don't know, i'd think it was more like this...

    path widens = 64 bit

mountain pass melts = who knows...

mountain pass melts = 'Yosemite' case redesign?

Well, I'm thinking color on this one. Seems to me the era of White, or Snow, is about to leave.

The river deepens = deeper pipline with big mhz jump

the path widens = Full DDR motherboard

the mountain pass melts...= My credit card and paychecks for the next year after I buy my new Mac.

I predict that whatever Apple brings out, it will be a lot faster than what I have now.

To be replaced by outdoorsy, rugged colors like Grey, Brown, and Green (like you'd see in a mountain pass)

TNN is now "The National Network" or something like that. Lots of Star Trek:TNG and other "non-country" stuff in the last year. . . not that I have time to watch any of it.

Sorry, Mr. 14 posts, but I don't post under other names, nor do I spend my time trying to insult others who aren't around.
