Did 17" PB get a new MB?

I only ask because it says it supports 2 GB RAM now. Or is it just a firmware update that existing 17" owners will be left out of???

I think they say that because 1GB sticks are now readily available and (somewhat) affordable. The limit before was based on two 512MB sticks.

True, but I heard when the 1 GB sticks first came out, that while you could install it in your system, that anything over 1 GB would not be used. Now maybe that wasn't true, but that's the last I heard about it.

is selling 1GB sticks for the current/discontinued 12 and 17-inch PowerBooks; I haven't heard anything about them NOT working.
