I guess when you've got a gun in your hand, you don't need to use apostrophes.

The AppleInsider news byte lists a date of Dec 31 1969. What's the hidden meaning here? Or is that a 6?

Yes, but that could be the null sign, zero, with the line through it.

The date displayed is 1/26/84, sorry mihrbot

You have to compare it with the time below, which shows 09:14. Compare the 0 with the 8. They won't be using two different sets of zeros, will they?

But Kickaha pointed all that out anyways. Props to a fast typing one-

And even if Apple releases something on the 26th of this year, the ad still shows 84.

It's not, Defiant is right (thanks for *someone* backing me up! ), check the zero below it - no diagonal.

Unless you think they'd use two different glyphs for the zeroes on the two lines...

no no no.... I think they're right. I think Apple has been planning for 20 years to speed bump the current line of powermacs on this date.

That's what I pointed out too. It would not make any sense unless... well... no that's not what I want to say.

I would be happy if they'd introduce something tomorrow, on the 26th, but it was definitely not in this ad.

(And hey, am I just *someone*? Thanks a lot )

Now, Apple may choose to introduce something tomorrow, but if they do it will be unrelated to this... glitch... and at *BEST* will be opportunistic from the misinformation and misinterpretations running around.

Unless you think that 20 years ago Jobs said "Yeah, let's plan ahead *TWENTY YEARS* to introduce a machine on *THAT SPECIFIC DAY*, *AND* let's use fuzzy zeroes in two different styles to make people wonder, *AND* let's *NOT* use the current year which is the BASIS OF OUR ENTIRE FREAKING AD CAMPAIGN!"

    Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
