I just got camino again for old times sake, and it's really nice. plus v0.8 is on the way which is good to hear, I thought development had slowed to a near halt.
Brad said that it was because of all the animated /gif smilies on the screen.
I suggested that he put a link(pop up window) to those smilies rather than having them appear in the browser, I don't think he read it though \
Other than that, I don't know what would help.
Haha, yup that's it. I always keep my browser at 800x600, and at that size the icons don't show up in the screen. I was wondering what everyone was complaining about. Of course, as soon as I scroll down, I experience the lag.
Just keep your window small enough, and there's no slowdown.
Mozilla seems to be the fastest for me. I am no fan of the non-Aquafied interface, but I'll trade that for speed. Safari does not render a few pages that I regularly access as nicely or as fast as Mozilla, so I don't use it that much (although it is on my Dock, with Mozilla).
I'll probably move to Camino though, once it makes it to 1.0 - if it ever does.
Right now Im testing out Netscape and it renders pictures alot faster than Safari. I also like the layout better and there ar mnore preference options. Safari is just not there yet and hopefully Apple can improve it. Good bookmark management though, but its sluggish and cranky to operate.
I've heard good things about Firebird and Omniweb but they are still in beta so I will try after they are complete.
