    The X-32 and X-35 were experimental prototypes. They're probably in the middle of retracing and reengineering every piece of the original prototypes to come up with the final production design. After that comes trials and delivery of various pieces of infrastructure (support equipment, documentation, specialist training, etc). I'd bet the planes aren't going to be delivered until the end of the decade.

    Look at the F-22. It still hasn't entered service.

    Why use air when you can use the Earth's magnetic field.

    A Cessna 150-152 has a 115-125 BHP engine.

    A Cessna 172 has a 145-180 BHP engine.

    A Cessna 182 has a 200-250 BHP engine.

    BHP= Brake Horsepower

    An aircraft engine operates at 75-100% power all of the time whereas the Mazda engine is only able to handle 25% power and short bursts of 75-100% power output.

    The wankel designed engine at 75% power would burn around 12 gallons an hour and this car has two of them. The Cessna 172 burns less than 8 gallons an hour as it is.

    In the event of a power failure the hovercar would take you as far as the impact crater.

    Regardelss any flight over 10,000 feet msl would require assisted oxygen.

    2) If there are only a few, it won't be a problem for the time being, and even if there are a lot, basic radar can give the driver information that's a lot more complete than what road drivers get today.

    1) a nice foreign car cost in France not so much. There is only a 19,6 % VAT. The best bargain is to buy a car in Denmark (because the price without VAT is very low) and take it back to France and pay the 19,6 VAT.

    2) without motors, the Mueller will crash like a bullet (believe Mars aka Crazy pilot, he know what he is talking about). As the traffic will improve many more accidents will occur

    3) see Mars answers too. .

    It's because of this three issues that this car is not ready yet or in the near future.
