G3 Bl/Wht. date/time stuck in 1956??!!!...

...hi there!

wonderin if anyone could help with my problem of my older Blue/Wht G3 thinking its in 1956!!.



i keep re-setting it but every other time i switch it on its back in '56.

with a message telling me that the year date is set past 1973 and that i should change it because it may cause some applications not to work properly.

i do this and the 2nd or 3rd time i switch it on its back there '56!!!...



i was planning on getting a Sonnet G3 Zif upgrade but then should i not bother cause its this the start of the ending for my G3??...

    You probably need to replace the LiIon battery on your motherboard.

    You should be able to pick up the battery at a Radio Shack or something. Look for a small battery on the motherboard, it might be purple or green in color. Just take that out and bring it to an electronics store and they'll probably have a replacement available.
