I've gotta give this a big ol'

They've rolled their own webserver?
Do you have any idea how badly it'll thrash the HD in your iPod if it gets many hits??

I'm (only slightly) disappointed: I was expecting the web server to be running on the iPod.

Me too.

Oh well.
It's still a stupid idea though, that HD wouldn't last more than a week setup as a server, even if it was just local.

Naw, you need a Newton for that.
Seriously.
There's a web server for the Newton.

Apache can run on the iPod using iPod Linux. You'd need to have some kind of ethernet to firewire bridge set up though.

when i go to show my portfolio of sites to prospective clients, i could take them running on my ipod and just plug-in...

Wouldn't it be easier to take an ibook or Powerbook with you...

i do that now with my PB, which is fine. i can run the sites locally from there.
but sometimes i'm not only showing online work but print work, which means a portfolio too.
all i'm saying is that it would be handy to be able to have the sites i want to show on an ipod, and just serve them from there.
handy, not essential
