Which New G5 has the best bang for the buck?

    The geforce 5200 video card is a shame in june 2004 for such high end computers : a 50 $ video card in a 2000 $ computer box.

    Anyone else have problems with the way Dan Knight determines "value"?

    I agree and think the Dual 1.8 GHz is the best value. As a video editor the PCI-X is not a big deal, nor is the 4 gig RAM ceiling. And the difference between 1.8 and 2 GHz is slim.



    In a few weeks barefeats.com will have solid numbers.



    Now I only need to decide between a new powerbook (and ultimate portability) and a new G5 (ultimate power). hum...
