MDD G4 PMU Reset

I just had the power go out in my work, wghich has 150 Macs. All of them rebooted after losing power, except a majority of my MDD (Mirror Drive Door) G4s. They wouldn't reboot after the power outage. I had to press their PMU reset buttons manually on the motherboard. All of them booted fine after I did a PMU reset. Any ideas why?

The CMOS batteries may be going dead. Are these MDD's on all the time?

I've had this happen to my MDD a few times, power goes out, have to reset PMU. I think it's normal (though not really nice), and the CMOS batteries usually last for many years.
