If that was the release date, it isnt now, Steve NEVER gets scooped like this, I would bet that the daye was changed and amazon was "taken to the wood shed" so to speak

Amazon release dates mean nothing. If you can believe that date, then you can believe their forecasted release dates for various games; the likes of Halo 2, Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 all had (very inaccurate) release dates mooted by Amazon at one point or another. To this date no official release date exists for Half-Life 2, yet Amazon say it will be released on November 16, 2004. They may be right. But it's a guess.
Well, Vivendi Universal Games just sent out a press release to state that Half-Live 2 will ship..... November 16th! I guess Amazon does know a few things in advance!
Indeed they did - interesting that they knew in advance. Either that or they guessed accurately. But my point still remains true; that is probably the fourth or fifth different release date Amazon had listed. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they were close with Tiger
It's pretty common for Amazon to make up release dates. They've listed various publication dates for George R.R. Martin's A Feast for Crows all year long, even though he hasn't even finished writing it yet. So I wouldn't put much stock in their "release" date.
That is probably the most famous example of release date creep on Amazon.
Anyway, I would wait for an official announcement before trusting any dates Amazon gives out.
I'd prefer that Apple release it later rather than sooner, because I'd like to see them release an OS that is as polished, optimized, and bug-free as possible. It's not like there's any rush...
Amazon now thinks it is June 30. I think it will be delayed until November 2005. I would rather wait to get a solid product at release instead of a repeat of Panther's issues at release.
