Hi all,

I'm a little confused here - I want to get my Dad an AV cable so he can watch DVD etc. via his iBook, but there's 2 kinds on the Apple Store.

The iBook is a 933mhz version of this

I presume I need this cable?

Thanks!

That'll work for video, assuming he has an S-Video or RCA input on his TV (some older sets don't). For audio you'll need something like this to plug into the iBook's headphone jack:

Ahh, I assumed that it might carry the audio signal too. Is there any such cable/output on th iBoook that does both?

This one is all the iBook 500 needed.

Later models (700mhz+) changed the ring around the .25in jack slightly.

iBook G4 might require the brick... in addition to rca audio.

    Progress. \

    edit: clarification.

No, you're wrong. It's the one with both S-Video and Composite Video out, that looks like a big old brick. You need a separate audio cable as well
