bring back deleted trash?

is there any way to get back something you emptied out of the trash?

    In OS 9, if you immediately stopped using the drive, it might have been possible to undelete.



    In OS X, nope. Unix delete is generally irreversible, and there are always multiple processes running that might be overwriting the former file areas as it aggressively reclaims space and defrags files under 20MB on the fly.

    Couldn't he take it to some place like Drive Savers if he really needed to?

    Depends where the deleted files were. If they were on the same drive as OSX.. chances are slim you could retrieve them. If they were on a seperate drive there's a possibility to retrieve the files with Data Rescue X. I've had the luck to retrieve some files with this app.
