Cases
When will we get a totally silver looking professional mac?
Are Apple still working on new cases for the G4 series replacements (whatever they may be called)?
It looks like they started off with the CD drives and accidentily put them in the current range of macs.
Also, why can't we have speakers attached to future Moniters? (less clutter)

Silver ones? your looking at it, its called quick silver. its got silver all over it.
case redesign for a g4...if g5 is coming out within a year than thats when apples powermac line will see a new case. assumptions of course but i think its logical.
Listen, if all you're going to post are pointless questions, at least have the common decency to use a question mark "?" in your titles. That way, those of us looking for new info and rumors can ignore your rather naif queries.

here, here.
As for the question, I think he means silver metal, like the new aluminum books. I'd like to see an aluminum case, don't think it would be too heavy, course it might dent easily tho. Maybe chrome handles instead of the plastic?
At least we know the Apple on the side will be chrome, that's a lock.
Yes I do mean a case that's totally reflective like a mirror. Imagine looking at yourself in the case for shaving!!!!
Now that would be value for money!!!
Huh? We're not talking a soda can here KR... You can use a fairly decent gauge of Aluminum sheet and it will still be difficult to bend or dent.
However, Apple can use a thicker gauge extruded or "laminated" aluminum sheet that will have half the weight of a solid aluminum sheet and be far more rigid as well. Not only that, but an all-alumnium case that's given a "brushed", machined or billet finish would look super!
It might also double a a HUGE heat-sink. Imagine that, a case built entirely out of aluminum given all the fine detail that Apple is known for and have it functional as well.

Buy a peecee monitor. Most people likes to have speakers seperated to get better sound..

LOL.
I thought by nature tho, all aluminum was a asoft metal. Even if kinda think, wouldn't it be somewhat pliable? I may be dense right now, can;t think of many aluminum applications to draw from. The brushed metal look would be sweet, but may clash with the chrome. Every apple other then knockout on notebooks is a chrome finish.

Er, _airplanes_? Crutches? Ladders?
Aluminum, Steel and Titanium vie for the "strongest" depending on how you phrase the question. That is, 'strongest by volume', 'strongest by weight', etc. In a bolt, (where the size is specified), a steel bolt is stronger than an aluminum one. But if we didn't specify the size, but instead said "It can't weigh more than 1 ounce", the aluminum one would be stronger. And less pliable.
I still like somethin along the lines of the cube and current style. This is old but in the realm of the idea I think.

Not a toaster! That'd be a marketting nightmare. What does the heat from the PPC 970 generate the heat to toast the bread?
The case is nice, but have the CD/DVD drives on the front, not the top.

kim Kap Sol is currently working on those metal reflective cases as we speak.
