Is $1200 a good buy for demo iBook?

Now this is Canadian dollars so it like $750 in US funds.

It's a demo model and it's a 500mhz w/CD drive. It was the original USB iBook model that came out.

My concern is that while it seems like a good deal, I might be better off saving a bit more for 600 mhz or 14" model.

Also, can one really work comfortably in OSX with a 500mhz G3, 66 bus and say 384K of RAM? And I mean, resizing windows and moving stuff around without these pauses.

I'd hate to have to run OS9.x on this thing for the next 2 years.

In Vancouver, you can get a BRAND NEW version of the iBook you mention for $1399 CDN.

Therefore, that's no point to buy the demo.

If Leonis is right then I'd say not to get it.

Also, the 500MHzz and 66MHz bus should be fine. The speed is good for me on mine, but people like Scott H will give you a hard time if you say it's fast enough for your needs.

For $1200 i hope they would include more than 384k or ram!
