Oh wise ones of the AI



I am planning on ordering my very first mac in a couple of days. I am going to get a 2.0dp, which i can get with a 20% student developers discount.

I am not sure whether to get the 6800 ultra or not. The price difference is about 400 euros (480$)with the 9650, so that is a lot of money.

The question is: will it be worth it?

I will mainly be using the machine for FCP, Motion and AE. On the apple site, they say that the 6800 is 50% faster in motion.

So is there anyone who has used these programs, with both cards (or just one )

I am not a gamer

I dont plan on using the (dual) 30incher

I am going to be using 2.5gigs of ram (for FCP etc)
