Eh?? Apple doesn't bundle ethernet cables or USB cables. Apple does include 3 foot extensions for USB cables with its current desktops though. My Summer 2000 iMac actually didn't come with one of those extension cables.

I guess I got jipped too. Ordered the superdrive imac, no firewire cable, no keyboard extender, or ethernet. I must have spent an extra 50 bucks on cables. You know it's not the computer that's expensive its the damn cables, cardreaders, and software. Apple should give away the computers and get into the accessories business -- talk about margins. What a load 'o crap.

I am! I'm a lawyer, but I wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot pole... . Apple hires mean guys. I'd be happy to get a check for $29.99 though (which is about 2999 times bigger than the check I got from apple for the last class action settlement and 29 times bigger than the one previous to that.)
My iMac SuperDrive came with that lovely new firewire cable. I used it to link up my PowerBook as an external and saved a lot of time with it. What I really needed, though, was the USB cable that did not come with my HP 990c printer ordered at the same time. I DID order and pay for it, but since it arrived so much earlier than iMac, I suppose it is possible it ended up going out with the boxes. <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" />
By the way, anyone else always feel heartbroken when the Apple Box has to go? :eek:

My wife's new iMac did NOT have a firewire cable...only a USB cable and the phone cable, which, by the way, I stared at a long time before I realized that it was apparently meant to be used for something. I was trying to imagine the electrons squeezing through it and getting stuck.
So, gelding, if you really got a FW cable, you win the prize.
i'll be waiting with my petition handy while you guys call. and make sure you get the name of who you spoke to and their extention number (in case joe smith gives you a free cable but bob jones refuses. then i know who to talk to.)

My iMac 600 that I bought last year came with the aforementioned Cable but my new SD 800 came with nothing.
Do all US Models ship with a USB Extender?
If so it's just another case of us being ripped off over here.
