Most of the 20" flat panels, including the Dell 2005FPW and Apple's displays, are 1680x1050. So based on the specs above, a Rage 128 should drive it fine. Might have to use the VGA port though. I'm not sure if any Rage 128s had DVI.
My old Sawtooth 400MHz G4 had an ATI Rage 128. It drove my 20inch Apple Cinema Display (the current design) with DVI. Not the best graphics, but it could do it, and without any hacks too...
So I tried connecting it with the VGA cable just for kicks and it worked!
Thats so weird that the DVI port doesn't support the full resolution- does a DVI signal take up more memory/bandwidth than a VGA signal at the same resolution?

You're welcome.
Just check that against the Dell display you're intending on buying.
It's supposed to enable a lot of unofficially supported resolutions. I'm going to try it today at the office.

Thanks for the help.
