Question to those who have Dual GHz G4 ;)
In my observation a few people here who has the dual gigger are doing serious stuff.
But I also find many people in this board who too own this machine are students or teenagers. I am wondering. How the hell can you guys afford this machine? Are you guys selling your souls to get the machine?

Only 17 and I'm the happy owner of a dual-1GHz PowerMac with ACD and a 500MHz Ti. Still need an iPod though.
So yea, today I've got the John Holmes Mac, but of course when the G5s come out they're gonna Lorana Bobbit my set-up. That's okay. If I can last six years with that 7500, imagine how long I'll last with this dualie.

Rich little bastards they are. Most of them probably get the Studnt pricing though so their parents most likely think the top model is the best investment at a discount.
As for your question Tiga tiga tiga woods ya-al.
I sell on ebay the day new ones are annonced. and put forth that amount towards the new PowerMac. I made the mistake of trusting a an entire web full of rumor mongers (including like CNN MSNBC, C/Net BuisnessWeek) about a year back, and sold early, and there was no PowerMac announced. I'll never sell before they are anounced again.
I'm waiting on a Ti DP right now.
Also, That kid that says he has a 500 Ti in a GHz G4 is full of s*it. They are not shipping for another few weeks at the very least.
I would know.
Pay more attention.
No, I have the standard 4MX in my dual; I was referring to a 500MHz Titanium PowerBook G4, which, as I'm sure you know, won't be shipping in the next few weeks but, rather, won't ever ship again.

My mistake.
But if you're a student, and you can afford to grab the top of the line, might as well. Because as a student, you shouldn't be able to afford another box for a long time, so buy the biggest one you can.
My take on it
I pull a six figure income, and while I could afford it, I'm not buying one. My current box is a Dual 450 G4, and it's serving me fine for the interactive work I do. 3D work is done on an Octane.

Damn....you ARE a rich guy

heh, you flatter me ;-) Most of the money I save and put into an SEP and other long term investments. When I retire, I'd like to be able to buy all these cool toys as soon as they come out ;-)
