I don't have a DVD here at work, so no I haven't tried. Everything else works fine though.

I installed it on my 14" iBook G4 1.2 Ghz last night, havent played with it too much, but its pretty buggy. The Photos work fine, didnt try DVD, Movies seemed to be fine, I browsed and watched a movie trailer without a problem, Music only works once after a restart, then if I go to my desktop and back into Front Row it stops working, gives me an error. It's very cool none-the-less.

Does it work well without the remote? Can you use the remote with an iSight camera as the infrared port?

You can most certainly buy it on bittorrent sites.

It's cool, if you install a bunch of quicktime codecs you can watch pretty much any movie you put in your movies folder. Too bad their wasn't a media center that used mplayer, or vlc for it's video playback ;-)

I've installed it on my iBook G4 12" and it works great! A little bit slow, but still works fine. Pictures, Music, and Videos all work fine and I havn't tried DVDs yet.

If you're having problems with playing music and getting the "can't communicate" error make sure you startup iTunes before you startup Front Row.

Well, having tried it myself now (without a remote), I can definitely say this is a cool thing. And I think it's a crime that Apple's limiting it to the iMac. They should just bundle it on a CD, along with a small IR/USB converter, in the box with that new Apple Remote. This is exactly what Mac mini HTPC modders have been begging for since day 1.

You just use the arrow keys, space bar and escape.

That would need some kind of drivers and it's not the way it works on the iMac.

I want to set up a mini on my entertainment center and use Front Row. Is there a way to use a remote with the Mini?
