High Def DVD Burning

I currently own a Sony High Definition video recorder. Currently, there are no high def players, no high def videos and no way to burn high def DVD's.

I'm hoping that the new Macs will include Blu-Ray technology and am assuming that this will enable me to play high def movies when they hit the market. More importantly, I'm hoping and assuming that this will give me the ability to burn my home movies onto DVD in high definition.

Should I expect to be able to accomplish this in 2006?

Why wait for an overpriced Blu Ray?

Interesting machine. Neatest part to me is where you can connect an Ethernet cable and play files off a server - no need to burn them to a disc at all.

Yeah I'm keeping my eye on this unit. There are a few glitches here and there but it's improving and a great way to view your HD content on cheap Red Laser optical media.
