Power6 makes more sense. IBM might run into problems with Sony if they started developing CELL chips for Microsofts next Xbox so keeping the PowerPC completly seperate from CELL is to their benefit. It also allows IBM to have anothter core technology to build from for other custom chips for whatever purpose comes up in the future.
IBM dosn't know. The only way we will see a 3ghz PowerMac is if there are delays in the Intel transisiion in which case Apple would pull the PowerPC out for one more run, and possible 3, although more likely quad 2.7

Depends on how the transition goes, which I hope is fine. A lot of people thought there would be no quad G5 PowerMac, too.
