Replacing USB 1.1 with USB 2.0 on G4 iMac

Dumb question perhaps but is this even possible?



Not sure how it all hooks up but can one simply replace the ports or is it a bigger issue that involves the motherboard?

    Simply put, forget about it. Pretty much any such add-on would require you to replace the entire motherboard.

    true story. there are no existing adapters that convert firewire to USB 2.0 and apparently they are different enough standards that such a converter would be rather expensive and difficult to make. sucks.
