Eugene, what is the fax number that you've used to fax your proof? I can't find it on the website. Thanks in advance!

I called them and asked yesterday. It is 512.674.2120.

I'm assuming that one should wait until requested before faxing in their proof, right?

And...I did sign up for a CS class for next semester, think that would be a go (ie, the semester hasn't started)?

I've looked over my undergraduate transcript and there was a grand total of one comp programming class, think that's a go?

I'm a Civil Engineer by the way (with oh, 20 or so CE classes), think I can persuade the people at Apple that I'll be developing structural analysis programs for use in Mac OS X?

I think he was referring to the Canadian prices (they have an encrypted excel list instead of the ADC hardware pruchase store), whereas these prices suspiciously look like the US ones.

    They're CAD$3031 and CAD$3932 for the 867/256/40/Combo and 1000/512/60/SuperDrive, respectively.

Edit: That's on terms. Prepaid is marginally lower ($2965/$3847).

I have a student who is developing a flowsheeting package for OS X and he managed. The extent of the computing on his transcript was relatively short although he did need to talk with Apple but he deserved it anyway.

Just give them a call and speak to them about it.

Not yet, but the usual discount is about 17%. I'm in the same market but haven't yet bought an ADC membership (because I might not buy for ~6 months yet!) - however I'm trying to get the password for the excel documents all the same. We'll see what happens - my contact is away for the weekend.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Was finally able to get ahold of the prices. Looks like the iBook prices are 82% of the regular prices; so, go on to <a href="http://www.apple.ca/store"; target="_blank">the Apple canada webstore</a> and multiply the prices you see there by 0.82.

For all those that are interested, my order seemed to have went through. Just waiting for the Super Drive, I guess. Apple did not ask me to fax in anything. I just provided my student ID number at the time I signed up for the ADC. Maybe they did a check with my university? I hadn't taken any CS classes, but was signed up for a few. Good luck to others.
