iMovie disaster

everytime i close iMovie, when i open it back up, the project i was working on no longer exists, and all of the clips are in the trash! What is the problem, this has been happening for some time now. I appreciate it. Thanks.

    Covering the silly things first... you are saving the project before you close, right?

    It's weird, that seems to happen with me too. I don't use imovie that much though. These are projects that have been saved because all the media is stored inside the file.

    i thought that it saved automatically when closing like most other applications, DO YOU WANT TO SAVE CHANGES? I am just really stupid i guess. Thanks.
