I know this is way off topic here, but do you have socialized healthcare in Sweden? We pay lower taxes here in the US, but I pay about $800 a month for our family of three's health insurance.
Copse, or anyone else with a 24" iMac, can you try to run older demanding games in the native resolution of the 24" display? RtCW is what comes to mind now and of interest to me. How well it plays under Rosetta and all things maxed out, including display resolution?

Well, yes, this is why I am asking for feedback from actual experience with the game. RtCW is fairly old now and ruuning it in native resolution would show where the limits are. By the way, playing universal games at high resolution is particularly good on the 24" model with the GeForce 7600 GT. A first perhaps in the iMac history. And this pushed me to ask about high resolution under Rosetta for older, of course, games.

We have no health insurance in Sweden. Healthcare is "free of charge". Except for dental after the age of 21, and some minor fees at local health centers.
32% of my salary goes to taxes. A big part, but so is 800$ for your insurance

I guess I could try it. although I use Windows for gaming for obvious reasons.

Yes, I understand, but it would be nice to see how Rosetta performs in such situations with the new C2D architecture. I have not seen anything related until now (same for your very original photo in the beginning of this thread).

Is that in addition to the VAT? I probably pay 35% between State and Fed taxes too, but no VAT, just 8.5% sales tax.
Thanks for the mini-review. I enjoy hearing what folks like about their new iMacs. I intend on switching to a Mac, but will probably wait until MWSF just to see if maybe, just maybe they come out with a smaller version of the MacPro. From what I read here it probably won't happen, but I can wait till then and keep banging away on my old Dell (though the more I read about the 24" iMac, the harder it gets!)

Hmm not sure if I understand you correctly. But on my salary each month, I pay 32% tax.
And if I buy something...like a computer, I have to pay 25% VAT on that computer. But there´s no VAT on my salay if that´s what you mean.
Yeah, a smaller cheaper MacPro would be great. It was the 24" that got me hooked!

32% plus a 25% VAT%?? Ouch! I bet you get more from your government though than we do at times. Our healthcare is totally f###ed up. We have great medical technology, but fewer and fewer people can afford it. Our politicians are completely
owned by big business so I doubt things will change much short-term

Any complaints about your cool 24 incher?
But we do have to pay for medical insurance. Hard to tell who's getting hit harder in the wallet. I think I'd rather have a higher sales tax and not pay for medical insurance. I probably pans out about even for the average person. Though someone in Sweden that makes a good living and is frugal could probably sock away a better percentage of money than someone in the US that is on par in salary and spending.

We had a goverment election recently and the non-socialists won! I don´t have my hopes up on lower VAT though..

If you're running them under rosetta, I doubt it.

Hey copse, zoom in on that Ibanez man.
Sure.
