I worked for Hewlett-Packard from 1962 thru 1998 in the R&D model shop the last 25 years. We made all the prototype parts for the engineers. I remember "Wos", The story at HP was that when Wos went to Dave Packard with his ideas for a personal computer, Dave told him they could never be made small enough  for personal use. Remember, in the early '70's, computers took up a whole large room, and used punch cards. So Dave gave Wos the OK to work on his idea of a personal computer. My most memorable experience was working on the HP-35 handheld calculator, I still have mine, and it still works just fine.
