  • Hands on: Apple's USB-C accessories leave us wanting more

No backlight, no upgrade... and still no Touch ID for me.    :/

  • All hands on deck: Tim Cook, Craig Federighi address Apple employees on AI, Siri

I was up all night playing games on my iPad mini and only got 3 hours sleep. And now I feel like crap.

It's all Apple's fault for making the battery so big. And Apple Intelligence should have told me to go to bed.

Apple is doomed... again. And Tim Cook should be fired... then rehired, and fired again.

    /am I doing this right?

  • Iconic 'Trash Can' Mac Pro is now on Apple's vintage products list

The design was too advanced for Intel chips and regular GPUs. Imagine a cylindrical Mac with an M series chip. Maybe they should release an "Anniversary Edition" with an M4 Max or M5 Pro or Max, or even an M series Ultra chip.

  • How one hospital is reinventing care with Apple tech

    inkling said:
Another benefit might be fewer viruses and a better system of updates stay ahead of them.
I was thinking the same thing. Had to take a housemate to the hospital back when Windows 7 or 8 was a thing, and the hospital ER monitors were still running XP. I can't imagine how many potential data leaks and viruses they were vulnerable to.

  • Apple Cinemas may come to regret their name as lawyers step in

Anyone with the least bit of common sense would know that Apple does not own any brick-and-mortar movie chains. Yes, they do produce their media.
maybe, but when I go to an Apple Cinema, I fully expect to see a huge Apple Cinema Display.

All joking aside, millions of people with "common sense" don't keep track of even basic tech news as you might. It's just not their point of focus. So when they hear "Apple Cinemas", they are going to naturally assume it's an Apple branded cinema, especially if they are even just casually aware of Apple producing movies.

That's what the issue is, and why trademark law exists.

  • What Apple TV hardware will run the new tvOS 26

It's been a few weeks since I begged for hi-res audio support via Apple TV, both through Apple Music and streamed from my Mac, so here goes:

    please Apple? Pleeeeaase?

  • Passthrough audio is finally on the way to Apple TV, iPhone, and more

If I can stream hi-res audio from Apple Music or from my Mac I'll be very happy. At the moment I have to stream hi-res audio from my Mac through my disc player's inferior interface. Sounds great, but it's clunky. But it was made in 2016, so it's about time Apple TV caught up.

And it would be nice to consolidate all my hi-res music into the Music app and stream it from there.

Hopefully 2010 is far enough away that they'll be able to use the elapsed time to demonstrate that the trademark is now generic.

Lots of places and things are named apple, including a very common and popular fruit.  This is why common English words should NOT be trademarkable in the first place.  Apple should have stuck with Apple Computer if they wanted something trademarkable.
Oh, so anyone should be able to open a restaurant and call it "Starbucks"? Or hell... an electronics store, and call it "Microsoft"? yeah... no.
What common meaning do Starbucks and Microsoft have where you are?
The fact that word "apple" has a common meaning is irrelevant. When you trademark that word for your business name, you have the right to defend your business identity, within reasonable parameters.
