Apple should keep Lightning for now, but USB-A has to die
I'm a musician. MIDI as a system of connectivity & control has been around for 40 years and is still more reliable than (MIDI over) USB. So much gear can continue to be used successfully in studios and live because the standards DO NOT change so rapidly. So rapid migration to new connectors is not always the best thing. And don't get me started on headphone sockets... ;-) -

Everything you need to know about Apple's Touch Bar and Touch ID for MacBook Pro
So, I use emojis but they're not really a pro feature.. ;-) As well as price & #donglegate, I'm not yet convinced by TouchBar so will have to wait until stores actually have versions for me to try out. -
Review: Apple's late-2016 15" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
Does everyone else buy new peripherals just because one company has decided to make a specific port the only option? I do not. Backwards compatibility is desirable (and probably more environmentally-friendly) but not necessarily the best for a commercial enterprise.
