Of course, I am not privy to the details of the fathers error beyond the article. But, all parties could come out ahead by making this incident a teachable moment where this apparently well respected employee could continue in some capacity at Apple. It is very much a teachable moment - violating a signed contract and showing irresponsible behavior will cost you your job.
